Patch Notes

Patch notes are where Brigador Killers’ Early Access reality shows up. Trailers promise fantasy; notes quietly change magazine costs, plate durability, vehicle repair loops, and mission scripting. This page tracks Steam and GOG updates since the August 20, 2026 Early Access launch. We do not invent version IDs or fake bullet lists. When official notes publish, we summarize impact here through JSON regeneration. Hub: Updates Hub.

Day-One Launch Build — August 20, 2026

The initial Early Access launch build included:

  • Campaign continuation: Team Anchor survivors fight through roughly five new missions in the Mar Nosso undercity with new tilesets before returning to a garage-style hub.
  • Remixed demo missions: Crow’s Field and other familiar maps return with different spawn points, exits, and rotating enemy factions.
  • Morale system overhaul: Enemies now gain a small shooting delay when the player breaks contact. Morale is tied to sound radius—if an enemy can hear gunfire or explosions, they can be aggroed. Panic, retreat, and surrender mechanics are active.
  • Arsenal expansion: Thirty-plus firearms across small, turret, auxiliary, main, and heavy hardpoint categories. Weapons include Corvid zipguns, Spacer man-portable tech, pulse rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers, and heavy cannons.
  • Vehicle variety: From clapped-out sedans and panel vans to tanks, Loader Variants, Party Vans, and bipedal mechs.
  • Combat rigs: Suit upgrades that change what you can carry on foot, unlocked through key items found on missions.
  • Garage economy: Scrapper breaks salvaged vehicles into parts; Fabricator builds or upgrades vehicles; Armory stores weapons; Merchant Causeway offers exotic purchases.
  • Soundtrack: Full original score by Makeup and Vanity Set.

Known limitations at launch

  • UI polish is still evolving; inventory management has rough edges.
  • Some weapon audio is placeholder-quality, especially certain lasers and vehicle sounds.
  • Controller support is limited; mouse and keyboard strongly recommended.
  • The incognito system is being reworked and not available at launch.
  • English only at launch; more languages planned.
  • Progression wipes are possible as systems get restructured.

How to read future patches

When new builds drop, use this triage method:

  1. Stability first — crashes, softlocks, save corruption. If severe, delay long sessions.
  2. Economy second — Scrapper yields, Fabricator costs, Armory prices, Merchant inventory.
  3. Combat third — weapon handling, armor values, AI pressure, morale changes.
  4. Vehicles fourth — hull HP, mount rules, repair costs (vehicles tier list).
  5. Quality-of-life last — UI clarity, keybinds, camera, performance.

If economy and combat both moved, run training kits only for a day. See Getting Started if the patch makes you feel newly clumsy.

Impact map for wiki pages

After triage, update the matching lanes:

Player checklist after any patch

  • Read official text fully once without skimming numbers
  • Mark expensive crafts to pause
  • Update Sheet C backup kits
  • Re-verify Merchant emergency substitutes
  • Run one disposable sortie before statement kits
  • Note frame pacing if rendering changed
  • Recheck abort rules on stubborn missions

Community note hygiene

Discord chatter is useful for bug discovery and terrible for precise values. If someone claims a silent nerf, ask for a screenshot of the official note or a reproducible method. This wiki’s facts stay aligned with official Steam/GOG notes and developer posts.

Relating patches to the roadmap

Roadmaps say where the car is driving; patches say where the tires actually slipped. When a roadmap pillar lands partially, celebrate the slice, then wait for follow-up notes before crowning new S-tier picks on the Tier List Hub. When a pillar slips, keep playing the systems that already work.

Read the notes before the notes read your inventory the hard way. Early Access rewards operators who treat every hotfix as a briefing—same abort rules, same backup kits, same refusal to stake the whole cell on one unverified rumor.
